Well let’s see, I like helping the environment (and have been opening my big mouth about it for a long time). And I am a singer (with just a touch of ‘tude)…. there’s the Diva. So, I am.
It’s my intention to co-create an active, conscious community of Eco- Divas, or Divites or Devotees. Or if the guys prefer, I’ll borrow the term from my mentors, The Green Divas: “Dude”. (Heck, I already took your title, Ladies:-)
Here on the site, please think of me as your hostess with the mostest. Now, I don’t know everything, that’s for sure. We all have our gifts to offer, our part to play — it’s a little unhealthy to try to do it all yourself! Believe me, I know. And I am not the epitome of best practices all the time — I’m just trying to do the best I can. But here on Salt Spring Island we’re blessed to have the most amazing mentors and leaders in the environmental movement living right here on this magical island.
I’m thrilled to be your Diva (ine) moderator here while we exchange information, share ideas on how to live healthier lives — for ourselves, loved ones and the planet. It’s a place to take action, knowing if we speak up we can create change. We can shift into a more conscious way of living with an awareness that we’re all connected to one another — and the whole universe in an entangled web of consciousness. In that way, I believe we can all live quite comfortably and sustainably on Mother Earth.
So join the Eco-Diva Community. It’s a great way to pass the time — and better than slashing your wrists!;-) With a focus on the Good News, we’re looking for comments on posts already written, stories or ideas to share with the rest of the community.
I, Eco-Diva Nomi, will personally, humbly and gladly, welcome you to the fold.
Because it’s official. The other Divas & I agree, Eco-Diva-ness is a state of mind: Of being in the world but not of it. Aware that the world is going through some major and challenging transformations. And dealing with it all in a hopeful, fun – sometimes cheeky, open, informative and hope-fully, galvanizing way. Fighting the good fight – for our own survival.
Once upon a time I was called an Eco-Nazi. (y’know like the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld — not like the ones in the Sound of Music). I was so dubbed by my handsome, loving husband Marco. He was right, I was little angry and perhaps militant. With all the strife & sadness in the world it was hard not be.
But then I asked myself, since perpetual anger is unhealthy then perhaps shouldn’t I better practice what I preach as a yogi? I decided to find more joy in my life; to balance the outrage that I was feeling on behalf of the planet — the land, the animals and of course, my own butt.
I believe (and science, and most spiritual paths back this up) we are truly Energetic, Infinite Sparks of Light; Spirits; Children of the Creator/Creatrix, Universal Conscious energy and this life is just a temporary learning place where we evolve energetically. Or spiritually.
The hows, the whys who really knows at this point, but we are…….. here. Right now. All of us sharing this experience that we affect and co-create know: To every action, there is a reaction and so on (And so on, and so on and so on) infinitely in space.
So what actions do we want to take? The choice is ours whether we make it consciously or not. We’re always choosing — towards health and sustainability or away from it. Do we continue on as before, denying the path that leads to the destruction of our home and ourselves? Or do we choose something better — something shinier and new, and dare I say glamourous. A sparkling new era where compromise, compassion, connection and co-existence is possible for all.
The times we’re living in are indeed transformational and any one of us can utilize that energy to create a happy, healthy and harmonious life. I metamorphosized into an Eco-Diva — and you can, too — into whatever that means to you. How did I do it? Use this website, connect with others and play…… your part!
Like I said, I don’t have all the answers. We all have great ideas to share so once again I invite you to be an Eco-Diva too (yes, even you Sir — let’s not get hung up on gender roles;-) After all, if everything is connected. Then I am you, and you are me, and you are she, and we are all together!
